Bricsys invests in the Future of Motorsport with Formula Student

Scuderia Mensa, the Formula Student racing team from RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Germany, faced the challenge of designing the Monocoque for its 2020 race car while coordinating roughly 50 students organized like a small company. To meet tight design, collaboration and manufacturability needs, the team adopted Bricsys’ BricsCAD Mechanical as their primary CAD tool.

Bricsys delivered BricsCAD Mechanical (with local partner MERViSOFT providing training), enabling the team to model the monocoque—chassis, rear frame and suspension—quickly and collaboratively. The intuitive interface sped adoption across the team, manufacturers have had no problems opening the BricsCAD files provided, and the solution improved collaboration, accelerated part handoff for fabrication, and helped students rapidly develop CAD skills.
