A Brex Case Study
Carta, a San Francisco–based company founded in 2012 that simplifies startup equity, was growing rapidly and seeing increasing complexity in software purchases, T&E and office equipment — which lengthened their month-end close, especially around managing travel cards. To address this, Carta adopted Brex and its direct NetSuite integration to reduce manual transaction work and improve controls and visibility.
Brex’s NetSuite integration let Carta map Brex categories to NetSuite GL accounts and apply Custom Rules for department, class and location so transactions are auto-coded instead of being manually formatted in CSVs. The result: Brex cut at least 25 hours from Carta’s month-end close — Carta moved from spending over 35 hours a month coding transactions and from ~3 hours of review to about 35 minutes — drastically streamlining the close.
