Whipping Up a Stench for Dr. Beckmann

The customer, Dr Beckmann, needed to change consumer perceptions about appliance care and promote its Service-it Washing Machine Cleaner. The challenge was to make people think about the need to proactively clean their appliances, even when there are no visible signs of dirt.

The vendor, Brazen PR, created a social experiment by inventing a fake perfume called "Eau d’Our" that smelled like a dirty washing machine. They filmed unsuspecting public reactions in London and turned the footage into a video campaign for social media. This campaign achieved over 1 million video views and secured 15 media and influencer partnerships for Dr Beckmann.
