Case Study: ASB achieves 49% energy reduction with BraveGen

ASB, one of New Zealand's largest banks, was challenged by rising energy consumption across its extensive national portfolio of over 100 sites. Despite previous efficiency initiatives, the lack of timely and accurate data made it difficult to pinpoint usage and drive meaningful performance improvements. To address this, the bank partnered with vendor BraveGen to implement their monitoring and consulting services.

BraveGen’s solution involved installing a network of high-quality IoT meters to gather granular, sub-load data from every site every 15 minutes. This data was integrated into their cloud analytics platform, Hub, enabling continuous monitoring and targeted improvements. Working closely with ASB for over 15 years, BraveGen helped them achieve a 49% energy reduction, saving $2.1 million and 14.3 GWh annually while avoiding 11,575 tonnes of CO2-e cumulatively.
