Royal Caribbean launches a more scalable, guest-centric cruise planner with Brave People

Royal Caribbean International faced significant challenges with its existing Cruise Planner platform, which offered a disjointed user experience that was overwhelming for first-time cruisers and hindered sales. The platform lacked end-to-end planning capabilities and had inconsistent interfaces across devices. To address this, Royal Caribbean invited Brave People to participate in a design bake-off to propose a unique solution.

Brave People designed a fully guided planning journey that allowed users to select interests and build their itineraries with ease. Their solution integrated SAP Hybris predictive analytics for behavior-based recommendations and featured a responsive design that worked seamlessly across mobile devices and wearables. The proposed redesign by Brave People laid the foundation for a more scalable, data-driven, and guest-centric platform, significantly improving usability, personalization, and revenue potential through smarter upsells and greater engagement.
