Royal Purple, a well-regarded synthetic motor oil brand, needed to break through to mainstream consumers beyond its core aftermarket and enthusiast audience. With the goal of increasing awareness and educating the general public about the performance benefits of its synthetic oil—and lacking internal resources for nationwide PR—Royal Purple partnered with BrandpointHUB to create and distribute consumer-focused editorial content.

BrandpointHUB’s editors developed seasonally timed articles and distributed them through its online publisher network, placing content in some of the country’s top 100 dailies and providing consolidated online reporting. The campaign averaged 882 placements per article, produced an average print ad value of $38,439 and average online ad value of $305,912, and delivered an average ROI of 71:1 while expanding Royal Purple’s reach across major U.S. markets and improving consumer education.
