RC Willey combats browser injected ads to improve the conversion rate

RC Willey, an American home furnishings company, faced a significant challenge with browser-injected ads. These ads, which included popups and competitor offers, were degrading the shopping experience and causing a high exit rate by redirecting customers away from their site. RC Willey was unable to measure the full impact of these ads on their conversions, so they partnered with the vendor BrandLock for a solution.

BrandLock implemented its solution by setting up a 12-month A/B test using its BrandLock Shield product to measure the ads' impact. The test involved splitting traffic between a control group and a protected group where the ads were disabled. The results were significant, showing a +9% increase in overall site revenue per session, a +10% lift in the conversion rate, and a -25% reduction in the exit rate for the protected traffic, proving the value of BrandLock's service.
