The University of Delaware partnered with Brandlive to produce the Blue Hen Celebration after COVID-19 forced postponement of its traditional commencement. UD needed a memorable, university-branded virtual event delivered in just 13 days that could support 10,000+ live attendees, provide accessibility (closed captioning), and give friends and family a way to congratulate graduates.
Brandlive built a custom Events production—matching UD branding, integrating live chat and social “virtual shout-outs,” closed-captioned video, on-demand playback, and a dedicated customer success manager—after thorough testing. The event drew over 16,400 total views (7,400+ live), generated more than 2,500 audience comments, and delivered a highly engaging, well-received celebration that preserved the spirit of commencement.
