Rent the Runway, a New York–based fashion rental service, wanted to make its native app the core of its mobile strategy because the app converted far better than mobile web. They faced two challenges: email and web links often routed users to the mobile web (causing drop-off), and their existing tools lacked visibility into the full cross‑platform user journey.

Rent the Runway integrated Branch deep links and the Sailthru plugin, and deployed Branch Journeys smart banners and interstitials to steer mobile users into the app. About 25% of email clicks began routing directly into the app, total mobile revenue from email grew 200%, app installs and engagement rose, and Branch’s cross‑platform attribution provided clear insight to inform ongoing mobile web and app decisions.
