RTLZWEI partners with Branch to optimize the cross-channel user experience in the Love Island app

RTLZWEI, the Munich-based broadcaster behind the German Love Island franchise, needed a single, consistent touchpoint to keep viewers engaged across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, RTLZWEI.de and other channels. The Love Island app was positioned as that central content hub—offering voting, exclusive content and interactivity—but RTLZWEI struggled to grow in‑app discovery, installs and sustained engagement versus their broader social and web presence.

To solve this, RTLZWEI implemented Branch’s mobile linking platform—deep links in push, organic social, YouTube Community posts, paid search and web-to-app Journeys with deferred deep linking—so users land directly on the right in‑app content. The approach drove measurable gains: during the Sept 2021 season Branch links generated over 20% of installs, 52% of app opens and more than half of sessions via Branch Quick Links, with users acquired through Branch showing higher conversion and retention; Branch data now serves as RTLZWEI’s cross‑channel analytics source of truth.
