Omio (formerly GoEuro) is an app-based ticketing platform that helps travelers compare and book train, bus, and flight tickets across Europe. Although the app delivered the best engagement and ROI, most bookings originated on desktop and mobile web, so Omio needed a reliable way to convert desktop and web visitors into high-quality app users without disrupting access to their tickets.
Omio used Branch’s Journeys (localized smart banners) to drive mobile web users into the app and Text Me The App (SMS deep links) to send desktop bookers a link that opened their preloaded tickets in-app. The combined desktop-to-mobile strategy reduced friction, increased app installs by 15%, and doubled the number of engaged app users.
