OLX Creates the Web-to-App Experience Users Deserve

OLX, a leading online classifieds marketplace operating in 45 countries, relies on a healthy balance of buyers and sellers and finds its best-performing experience in the mobile app. Many sellers first visit on the mobile web, but paid install campaigns converted poorly and web users needed more contextual education before installing—prompting OLX to find a scalable way to turn low-cost mobile web traffic into high-intent app users.

OLX implemented Branch’s Journeys web-to-app smart banners to deliver contextual, personalized install offers, using A/B testing, audience segmentation, and a WYSIWYG editor to optimize creative and messaging. The campaign drove more than 75,000 app installs in the first two months, achieved up to an 8% view-to-click rate on some banners, and produced installs that converted at 10x the rate of their DSP-acquired users, with minimal technical effort.
