HK01, a leading Hong Kong media company building a personalized lifestyle platform, launched a mobile app to deepen engagement but found its website still had 10× more users than the app. HK01’s challenge was to grow app downloads and improve web-to-app conversion without relying solely on paid advertising.
HK01 implemented Branch Journeys banners, deferred deep links and Branch links across mobile web, social channels and QR codes to route users seamlessly from articles and social posts into the app without disrupting the user experience. After three months, Branch drove 30% of all attributed installs from non-paid sources, generated 24 million additional app opens, and delivered click-to-open and click-to-install rates that were 2.9× and 1.5× higher than paid ads, respectively.
