Geekbuying Drives Organic Traffic and Increases Web to App Conversions with Branch

Geekbuying, founded in 2012, is a customer-focused eCommerce retailer of consumer electronics that saw app users convert 55% better than web or desktop customers. Faced with high mobile user acquisition costs and the need for a seamless web-to-app experience that preserved promotional context and supported a customer-first approach, Geekbuying sought a cost-effective way to drive organic mobile traffic into its app.

Using Branch Journeys’ personalized smart banners and deferred deep linking, Geekbuying routed mobile web users directly to the same in-app product pages (or to the app store then back to the content after install), preserving click context and enabling tailored promotions. From January–September 2020 this approach boosted in-app conversion by 27%, achieved a 58.16% click-to-install rate, and accounted for 42.8% of attributed installs and 30% of total revenue.
