To meet that challenge Marqeta partnered with Branch, leveraging Branch’s Employer Payments Platform and Branch Wallet to deliver instant access to funds and modern card-based payout capabilities.

Branch implemented a solution that issues physical and virtual cards, powers a real-time Branch Wallet, and disburses no-cost pay advances and other payments for workers. The result, according to Marqeta, is a significant market impact: workers gain instant, free access to earned wages and financial services previously unavailable to many in the gig economy, while platforms can offer streamlined, card-based payouts at scale thanks to Branch.
