A Branch Case Study
Unilever, the world’s largest ice cream company with large distribution centers like its Sikeston, Missouri plant, faced the common DC challenge of unpredictable demand, tight hourly labor markets, and paper-based scheduling that made communication, shift coverage and retention difficult. To tackle this, Unilever deployed Branch’s employee self-service scheduling and engagement platform — including mobile schedules, Team Page, shift swapping/partial coverage and secure messaging.
Branch’s tools gave frontline workers and supervisors real-time visibility and communication: employees can check shifts on their phones, post or pick up shifts, and receive critical plant updates. The result at Unilever’s Sikeston facility was faster shift coverage and fewer needless commutes, better time-off handling and improved manager-to-staff communications — with staff citing concrete wins such as avoiding a trip to work, peers picking up sick shifts instead of using attendance points, and a last‑minute replacement found before surgery.
