A Bramble CFD Case Study
The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) faced the challenge of developing new aerodynamic regulations for Formula 1 to improve overtaking. Their goals were to reduce the aerodynamic performance loss for cars following another and to create high-performance cars without the series becoming overly uniform. A small team of their aerodynamicists chose Bramble CFD software for this task due to its specialization in motorsport and user-friendly platform.
The solution involved using Bramble to automate large parts of the CFD process, enabling the team to run thousands of complex simulations on AWS cloud compute. With Bramble, the small team of three aerodynamicists produced an impressive 3,000 full-detail simulations in a single year. This high volume of data was instrumental in successfully developing and validating the new technical regulations for the sport.
