Sappi, a global diversified woodfibre company, needed a Cloud and Edge platform to set enterprise-wide governance standards and to equip its domain experts with data science tools. Their digital transformation efforts were initially siloed by region, which hampered progress and created a need for a unified solution. This challenge led them to partner with Braincube.

Braincube provided its Smart IIoT Platform and templatized Digital Twin framework to structure Sappi's data and integrate it with RapidMiner's modeling tools. This solution enabled Sappi's domain experts to autonomously build and maintain Digital Twins, rapidly advancing their data enablement and closing the production loop from idea to execution. As a result, Sappi successfully rolled out the platform to multiple mills globally, is on track to build ~165 Digital Twins within three years, and has fostered a strong data-focused culture shift.
