Camp Robin Hood slashes route planning time by 2.5x with Brainbox Labs

Camp Robin Hood, a major summer camp, faced significant logistical challenges with its outdated and discontinued Microsoft MapPoint-based bus routing system. The archaic software was slow, difficult to use, and could no longer be supported, making it a major obstacle for planning routes for over 1,000 campers. Brainbox Labs was engaged to develop a modern web application to overcome this.

Brainbox Labs built a custom mapping application named LARRY, which integrated directly with the camp's operations software via a custom API and leveraged Google Maps for route planning and optimization. The solution slashed the route planning process from 8-10 weeks down to less than 4 weeks, achieving a 2.5x efficiency gain and a 75% reduction in associated admin costs, saving the client over $20,000.
