Montreal office building achieves energy cost savings within 5 months

The Leading Cheese and Dairy Product Manufacturer, a global dairy producer with multiple commercial buildings in the Greater Montreal Area, needed to reduce energy costs at its headquarters while improving employee comfort. To begin its smart building journey the company implemented BrainBox AI’s AI-powered HVAC solution in its 133,190 sq. ft. Montreal office (Tridium Niagara 4 controls).

BrainBox AI deployed a custom Tridium Niagara driver, normalized building data, integrated weather and utility tariff information, and enabled autonomous, predictive control of HVAC systems. Within five months the BrainBox AI solution reduced HVAC electricity use by 11% (81,066 kWh), saved roughly CAD 7,600, and achieved major runtime reductions — supply fan -48%, cooling valve opening -92%, cooling valve runtime -35%, VAV reheat modulation -62% — including a 35% decrease in AHU heating modulation, all while maintaining occupant comfort.
