A BQP Case Study
The large aerospace and defense company faced significant challenges with traditional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, which became computationally prohibitive for the large-scale, non-linear systems required for aircraft and engine design. The exponential increase in complexity made achieving high-fidelity, real-time simulations impractical with classical high-performance computing methods.
BQP’s Hybrid Quantum-Classical Finite Methods (HQCFM) product provided a solution by leveraging quantum algorithms to solve the complex equations. This hybrid approach drastically reduced computational resource demands; a simulation requiring 1.69 billion cells used only 3882 quantum gates instead of millions of classical cores. BQP's solution also maintained a high accuracy of 10^-5, promising major reductions in the time and cost required for advanced aerospace design and optimization.
