A BPM-D Case Study
A global technology consumer goods company faced challenges in its integrated supply chain due to having multiple ERPs and varying levels of S&OP process maturity across its diverse business units. This hampered its ability to effectively forecast demand and plan supply, representing a significant obstacle to performance. To address this, the company engaged BPM-D to support the implementation of a new digital Demand and Supply Planning tool, an initiative projected to save $55 million over five years.
BPM-D employed a process-led approach, using a software-based reference model to align the new tool’s capabilities with the company's end-to-end processes. Their work included capturing As-is process models, designing To-be processes, and developing a detailed implementation roadmap. The results were substantial: the project implementation time was reduced by 30%, all 250 business requirements were met, and the company gained new capabilities for using simulations to save on inventory and create a more agile S&OP process.
