UNC Nutrition Research Institute adapts rapidly to COVID-19 needs with help from BP Logix

The UNC Nutrition Research Institute (NRI), a unit of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, needed to rapidly adapt internal finance and HR workflows to track COVID-19–related expenditures and comply with new federal, state, and university policies. The institute used Process Director from BP Logix—implemented as their TIGRIS system—to update Expense Reimbursement, Invoice Payment, and Purchase Order Request forms to capture pandemic‑related costs.

BP Logix quickly enabled the NRI to spec, build, test, and deploy changes in one day, applying updates across all 15 NRI research laboratories; front‑end coding of COVID‑19 expenses saved the finance team about 100 hours of retroactive work. With Process Director from BP Logix, the institute now produces timely, accurate reports for sponsors, projects pandemic‑related losses through May 31, and can prepare supplemental funding requests based on actuals.
