Parkwood Baptist Church (NC) needed a way to keep worship happening when weather, illness, or distance kept people from attending in person. They partnered with BoxCast and adopted a BoxCaster encoder (using Church Online Platform as the viewer-facing portal) to stream services and special events to their congregation and beyond.
BoxCast’s solution let Parkwood reliably broadcast weekly services and large events—even during a severe snowstorm that drew more than 500 concurrent viewers—and work over poor camp internet by using an iPhone hotspot. The result was measurable audience growth, greater access for homebound and overseas viewers (including a regular viewer in Copan, Honduras), and expanded outreach through BoxCast-powered streaming.
