SMEG, the Monaco-based utilities company, needed a secure and scalable way to collaborate with hundreds of external partners while moving away from documents stored on internal servers. Before using Box, file access was limited, making collaboration difficult and slowing down workflows across teams using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

With Box Intelligent Content Management, SMEG enabled secure internal and external collaboration, supported by Box Zones, Box Sign, and Box Shield. Box helped SMEG save up to three weeks on some documentation workflows, preserve more than 1.4 million file versions, support 125 mobile users, and avoid over 1,400 emails; Box Shield also blocked more than 2,000 attempted shares of sensitive links and flagged about 2,500 potential security incidents.
