LACERS, the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System, needed a secure way to replace analog retirement processes and meet growing expectations for digital self-service. Serving about 50,000 members, LACERS turned to Box to improve compliance, protect personal data, and modernize member services while reducing delays in retirement benefits.

Box helped LACERS move collaboration and communication into its Intelligent Content Management platform and build a digital retirement application portal with Box Consulting. Using Box products like Shield, Governance, Relay, and Sign, LACERS reduced an 80-page paper application to a 10-page digital form and cut completion time from a few days to about one hour, while also lowering IT maintenance and security overhead.
