How Equal Opportunity Schools ensures equitable access to education for all students

Equal Opportunity Schools (EOS) is a nonprofit that works to ensure students of color and low‑income students are identified, enrolled, and supported in rigorous high‑school programs like Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate. The organization was founded to address persistent under‑identification and under‑enrollment and now faces challenges scaling deeper, transformative work, competing for innovation capital, broadening impact beyond AP/IB, and adapting operations amid COVID‑19.

EOS leverages technology and training—its web‑based application, Tableau analytics, mobile surveys and newly converted online modules—alongside adult-focused engagement to change the systems that sustain inequity. As a result, EOS saw strong client renewals, avoided cuts and even added staff, and its tools have helped district partners navigate the pandemic while continuing to expand equitable access to advanced coursework.
