Box partnered with the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE), a nonprofit that advances clean energy adoption and administers California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP). CSE faced a slow, paper-based supporting-document process that delayed rebate processing by weeks and generated unnecessary waste.

Using Box’s cloud platform, CSE launched an all-electronic document submission and review workflow for CVRP, cutting the time between application and document receipt by over 50%—from weeks to hours or days. Since the launch in February 2015, more than 8,000 applicants have submitted documents online, helping CSE streamline operations, issue rebates faster (CSE has issued over $200M in rebates since 2010), and support California’s clean‑vehicle goals.
