Box for Veterans Affairs Your ticket to providing stellar services

Box partnered with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to address a persistent problem: fragmented, insecure content sharing across email, thumb drives, and paper that grew worse with a rapid shift to remote and hybrid work. The VA needed a single, governed platform to protect PII/PHI, enable collaboration with external partners and vendors, and streamline mission-critical workflows across healthcare, research, construction, and benefits delivery.

The solution was the Box Content Cloud, granted an Authority to Operate in 2020, which gave the VA a secure, API-driven platform for storing, sharing, e‑signatures and integrations. Built‑in controls (SSO/MFA, AES‑256 encryption, customer‑managed keys, watermarking), Box Shield and Governance reduced cyber risk and supported compliance while enabling researchers, clinicians and project teams to collaborate smoothly. The result: faster, organization-wide adoption, safer external exchanges, improved hybrid-work protections, and a more modern, efficient way to serve veterans.
