A Box Case Study
The United Nations Foundation links the UN with individuals, corporations and nonprofits to tackle global challenges like climate change, health, and poverty. Although the Foundation’s staff are mostly in Washington, D.C. and New York, its partners and contractors are worldwide; prior collaboration relied on a mix of FTP, Dropbox and other unsanctioned tools that made external sharing difficult and left the organization without centralized control or enterprise-grade security.
Box delivered a single, centralized platform that combined the simplicity of consumer tools with enterprise security, enabling secure internal and external collaboration and large-file sharing. Departments from HR and Finance to Communications now use Box to work with auditors, media and global partners; integration with Okta SSO reduced IT support for credentials, and time-limited shared folders removed the need for network access provisioning. The result is simplified governance, lower IT overhead and faster, more secure collaboration that helps the Foundation focus on delivering more projects and impact.
