A Box Case Study
Allergan, a global life sciences company developing medical devices, needed to move innovations to market while managing frequent mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and partnerships. The core challenge was enabling fast, cross-organizational collaboration without compromising governance of critical structured and unstructured IP—SharePoint and legacy file shares were slow, inaccessible to external partners, and risked mismanaged content.
Allergan deployed Box as an enterprise-wide secure collaboration platform (20,000 managed users and 8,800 external collaborators) and introduced governance rules and naming conventions to control unstructured data. This eliminated reliance on external hard drives, gave partners immediate access to due diligence on day one instead of weeks, and accelerated M&A integrations and time-to-market for new medical devices.
