Virgin Holidays, a British tour operator and part of the Virgin Group, faced the challenge of running a highly time-sensitive promotional campaign to sell over 200 holiday activities for just $1. To engage customers and encourage spontaneous bookings for its "Screw It, Let’s Do It" campaign, they partnered with vendor BotsCrew to create a unique and conversational digital tool.
BotsCrew developed a Californian-themed Messenger chatbot, named Cali-bot, which acted as a travel buddy. The chatbot engaged users, recommended personalized activities, and facilitated the purchase of the discounted experiences. The solution was a massive success, directly contributing to the campaign's popularity and helping Virgin Holidays win an award for the initiative.
