Case Study: Hager Group achieves smart, standards-based home energy and EV charging control with Bosch IoT Suite

A Bosch IoT Suite Case Study

Preview of the Hager Group Case Study

The role of standards in home energy management

Hager Group, a leading provider of electrical installation solutions, needed to integrate Audi’s e-tron charging into smart homes without overloading household electrical systems and while optimizing cost and renewable use. To achieve standardized, interoperable connectivity between PV systems, chargers and the car, Hager implemented the Bosch IoT Suite—using the Bosch IoT Gateway Software with EEBUS support to link disparate devices and protocols.

By deploying the Bosch IoT Suite, Hager used standardized EEBUS use cases and a device abstraction layer to manage Modbus, KNX and EEBUS devices uniformly, enabling safe load distribution, prevention of outages, and coordinated EV charging during low‑cost or PV‑rich periods. The Bosch IoT Suite accelerated development and interoperability, delivering a working home energy management system for Audi and paving the way for added features and device/fleet management via the Bosch IoT Remote Manager.
