EnBW/SMIGHT implements IoT solutions with the Bosch IoT Suite

SMIGHT, a startup spun out of EnBW to develop smart‑city solutions, faced a fragmented market and needed a uniform, open IoT foundation to connect heterogeneous devices (streetlights, sensors, EV chargers, parking systems). To meet those needs they selected the Bosch IoT Suite for device management and edge‑computing capabilities, leveraging Bosch.IO expertise to avoid building the stack themselves.

Using the Bosch IoT Suite (including Bosch IoT Remote Manager deployed on Microsoft Azure with Docker), SMIGHT implemented a modular OSGi‑based platform that simplifies device connectivity, scaling and cross‑domain data flows. Bosch.IO’s support and flexible licensing accelerated deployment and reliability; SMIGHT is now positioned to manage large fleets and plans to roll out up to 20,000 devices over the next five years as a direct result of the Bosch IoT Suite implementation.
