Case Study: Move_UK achieves streamlined event-based validation of automated driving systems with Bosch IoT Suite

Accelerating progress toward automated driving

Move_UK set out to find more efficient ways to validate automated‑driving systems after testing a fleet that logged nearly 200,000 km over three years and produced about 0.5 TB of sensor and video data. To address the connectivity and big‑data challenge, Move_UK worked with Bosch IoT Suite, leveraging the Bosch IoT Insights data‑management service to ingest, process and visualize vehicle sensor, radar and camera streams.

Using Bosch IoT Suite, the project implemented an event‑based recording strategy that triggered data capture on critical or subcritical events (for example, hard braking) and synchronized video, radar and location data in the backend so results were viewable online within seconds. Bosch IoT Suite-enabled processing showed the approach was effective: Move_UK demonstrated that systems for automated driving can be validated without continuous recording, reducing data volume, speeding analysis and lowering validation time and cost.
