UTS Embraces a Cloud-First Strategy to Move Beyond Legacy Technology

University of Technology Sydney (UTS), a leading young university with 44,000 students, 300,000 alumni and about 4,000 staff, needed to modernize a highly fragmented on-premises application and data estate to support rapid growth and service delivery. Despite an Application 2020 cloud-first strategy, persistent integration bottlenecks, data silos, many vendors and inconsistent BI processes made it slow and difficult to put new applications into production.

UTS implemented Boomi’s low-code, unified integration platform and API Management to standardize integrations, streamline data access and bring application, BI and data teams together. The move cut integration times dramatically (for example, redoing the Career Hub integration in days instead of months), accelerated A2A/B2B integrations and API delivery, enabled legacy retirements and reduced the on-prem footprint—significantly increasing IT project throughput.
