Saxion University of Applied Sciences, with campuses in Enschede, Deventer and Apeldoorn and more than 28,000 students and 2,400 staff, needed to modernize how it managed data to “get ready for a smart world.” The university was struggling with ad hoc legacy integrations that created “data flow spaghetti,” inconsistent ways of working across its 13 academies, and a fragmented student experience that forced users to navigate multiple portals for routine information.

Working with Boomi and partner Enable U, Saxion implemented the Boomi AtomSphere platform and a three‑phase plan that included platform deployment, staff training, and governance. The visual integration tools and standardized processes created a single way of working and unified data streams, enabling a single-source student app for 20,000+ students, a foundation for a unified business management suite, stronger data control, and an improved UX that supports ongoing innovation and student development.
