Riverbed Technology, a global IT vendor serving 28,000 customers including 95% of the Fortune 100, set out to modernize its 20-year-old IT stack as it moved to cloud-first CRM, HR, and finance systems. Its legacy on‑premises TIBCO BusinessWorks platform was at end of life and causing long development cycles, high maintenance and infrastructure costs, and scarce specialist skills, so Riverbed needed a cloud-native integration and EDI solution to accelerate integrations and support partner workflows.
Riverbed implemented the Boomi AtomSphere Platform with partner Jade and Boomi Managed Cloud Services to replace TIBCO for application integration and B2B/EDI. The move enabled 120+ integrations (about 70 app-to-app and 50 EDI partners), sped integration rollouts 2X, cut TCO and dependency on niche skills, and shortened quote preparation from as long as seven days to under eight hours while improving data reliability, partner onboarding, and scalability.
