Renesas Electronics America replaces manual processes and dramatically reduces costs using Dell Boomi AtomSphere for application integration

Renesas Electronics America (REA), the U.S. subsidiary of global semiconductor manufacturer Renesas, was burdened by a legacy on‑premises integration environment that relied on costly custom coding and 27 racks of servers accumulated through mergers. With multiple cloud and on‑prem applications—including a U.S. HRIS and two SAP instances—and a planned office move that made maintaining a data center undesirable, REA needed a simpler, scalable way to integrate and transform data for reporting and revenue forecasting.

REA implemented Dell Boomi AtomSphere iPaaS with Menlo Technologies as its integration partner, completing a proof of concept in days and rolling out integrations for HRIS→SAP, Salesforce↔Zendesk, Ultimate Software, and data warehouse feeds. The cloud approach reduced integration maintenance costs by about 89%, cut internal integration staffing from 2.5 roles to one offshore resource, replaced many manual processes with 15 Boomi integrations and 57 ERP process flows, and delivered faster development cycles and improved reporting agility (POC-to-production in under a month for a key requirement).
