Elanco, a global animal-health company serving customers across 90+ countries, became independent from Eli Lilly in 2019 and faced the daunting task of rebuilding its IT estate. The split required replacing reliance on parent-company systems, shedding technical debt from over 1,100 legacy applications, and maintaining business continuity while moving from on‑premises data centers to the cloud—work that had to be completed rapidly and during a pandemic.

Elanco selected the cloud-native Boomi AtomSphere platform to consolidate datasets, enable low‑code integrations, and accelerate large-scale application migrations to Microsoft Azure. Using Boomi’s prebuilt connectors and distributed architecture, Elanco standardized and migrated 15,000 users and devices across 50+ countries, reduced operational complexity, strengthened security with zero‑trust governance, and created a more agile, scalable IT ecosystem for its 155-person IT team.
