Case Study: Daylight Transport achieves lower costs, reduced customer service workload and increased revenue with Boomi

A Boomi Case Study

Preview of the Daylight Transport Case Study

Daylight Transport reduces costs, satisfies customers and boosts revenues with better integration

Daylight Transport, a fast‑growing California expedited LTL carrier that relies on a virtual network of contractors and agents, was hindered by a patchwork of FTP tools and home‑grown scripts. Poor integration between IBM Sterling Gentran, TMW TruckMate and other systems produced failures with no alerts, slowed EDI onboarding, disrupted order delivery, tracking and invoicing, and increased customer service workload and churn risk.

After a proof of concept, Daylight deployed the Boomi integration platform and B2B/EDI management, using reusable components to cut integration and development time from weeks to days—or minutes. The solution cleared an EDI backlog, freed one full‑time customer service role, reduced emails and calls by 40–50%, delivered near‑real‑time shipment and invoicing data, generated an additional $800–$1,000 per day, and improved cash flow and customer retention.
