Cornell University’s IT Team Builds the Connected Campus with Boomi

Cornell University, an Ivy League institution serving 23,000 students and nearly 10,000 employees, set a cloud-first modernization goal to create a connected digital campus that improved administrative efficiency, lowered IT costs and met students’ expectations for on‑demand access. Its IT team needed agile integration across new cloud applications and legacy systems, but the on‑premise Oracle Fusion middleware was slow, costly to maintain and incompatible with many cloud services.

After evaluating options, Cornell selected Boomi for its speed, ease of use and broad integration capabilities. CIT migrated integrations to Boomi in three months, built 37 hybrid integrations, cut development time to one-quarter of the previous pace with just two developers, and achieved 3–4× faster runtimes; Boomi API Management also unlocked legacy data and simplified maintenance and monitoring while supporting hands‑on student training.
