A Boomi Case Study
Catholic Education Network (CEnet) is a central IT team supporting technology for 770 diocesan schools in eastern Australia—serving 300,000 K–12 students and 30,000 teachers and staff. Faced with an “integration hairball” of disparate tools across 16 dioceses, CEnet struggled with fragile, point-to-point connections (especially between student information systems and identity/access tools) that slowed troubleshooting and hindered seamless access to learning applications.
CEnet standardized on Boomi’s low-code integration platform, using SCIM-based identity management to provide real-time, event-driven identity lifecycle management across 30 systems (including Compass SIS and Okta) and established a Boomi-centric integration center of excellence. The result: integrations developed 3–5× faster, dramatically fewer issues and faster resolution, reduced dependence on specialist skills, improved application access for staff and students, scalability to process 7.5 million documents/week, and capacity to handle 300,000 identity attribute changes annually.
