Boise State University ‘Boomifies’ Innovation in Higher Education With 100+ Integrations

Boise State University, an Idaho-based public university serving about 26,270 students and 3,290 employees, faced growing demands to modernize its campus technology. IT relied on ad hoc custom code and a homegrown integration tool that couldn’t keep up with cloud migrations, rising project volume, or urgent needs like a COVID-19 contact‑tracing system and improved identity management across PeopleSoft, Active Directory, and other systems.

By adopting the Boomi AtomSphere platform with AWS, Boise State built 100+ integrations that reduced integration build time from days to hours and enabled fast, flexible projects—such as a QR code-based contact-tracing workflow that syncs SIS, housing, and classroom data via Amazon SQS into a Neo4j visual database. The result: greater resilience and agility to support digital initiatives (including a 1,000+ WordPress migration), consistent identity and access synchronization with Boomi Master Data Hub, and the capacity to “say yes” to more business requests.
