Ampol, Australia and New Zealand’s leading transport energy distributor and retailer (serving about 4 million retail customers weekly and 110,000 business accounts), needed to modernize its digital estate during a rebrand and cloud migration. Hundreds of on‑premises, point‑to‑point integrations created a “spaghetti junction” that blocked centralized data access, slowed new service delivery, complicated compliance reporting, and hindered adoption of SaaS applications.
In partnership with Atturra, Ampol implemented the Boomi AtomSphere platform as a single data gateway and built reusable integration services to connect ERP, CRM, POS, supply‑chain systems and consolidate EDI onboarding. The solution cut integration delivery time by 70% and reduced costs to 30% of previous levels, enabled decommissioning of legacy middleware, provided near‑real‑time data for pricing and compliance, and made many smaller projects economically viable.
