Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue - Customer Case Study

Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue (BBAR) is an all‑volunteer nonprofit that rescues adoptable dogs from high‑kill rural shelters and places them in forever homes. Facing the need to establish sustainable funding, BBAR used #GivingTuesday as the launch for its first planned campaign, with a specific emphasis on recruiting recurring givers to support ongoing rescue work.

BBAR combined a live rescue of 11 dogs (shared via Twitter and Instagram) with focused email and social outreach, a branded donation page, homepage banner, a Facebook event with paid ads, and adopter #UNselfie sharing to drive traffic and ask for both one‑time and recurring gifts. The campaign raised $6,190 from 92 donors, converted a meaningful number of recurring supporters, and was named Network for Good’s 2014 Staff Pick for Best Campaign.
