The Amazing Give 2020 Giving Day Case Study

The Community Foundation of North Central Florida runs The Amazing Give, an annual local Giving Day that in 2020 faced the dual challenge of COVID-19 disruption and urgent nonprofit need for secure online fundraising. Working with Bonterra GiveGab and its GiveGab platform (including Community Giving tools), the Foundation had to postpone its spring event, rapidly pivot to emergency relief fundraising, and find ways to keep nonprofits and donors engaged year‑round.

Bonterra GiveGab helped the Foundation launch an Emergency Relief site, run a fully virtual Amazing Give, and deploy features like “Tip the Host” and the Philanthropy Hub. The Emergency Relief campaign raised $361,050 (Mar 19–Jul 31), and The Amazing Give 2020 raised $1,420,827 for 112 organizations with 4,929 donors; “Tip the Host” contributed $15,086 from 200+ gifts. Bonterra GiveGab’s platform and support also drove multi‑year growth (72% increase in dollars, 49% more nonprofits since 2017) and enabled the Foundation’s move to year‑round fundraising via Philanthropy Hub.
