Sandy Hook Promise helps pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act + quadruples fundraising with Bonterra

Sandy Hook Promise, a national nonprofit focused on preventing gun violence, needed to rapidly mobilize supporters after the Uvalde school shooting to push for passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. As a Bonterra EveryAction customer, they also wanted to capture that momentum, grow their supporter list, and keep using their fundraising and engagement tools more effectively across campaigns.

Using Bonterra EveryAction and related Bonterra fundraising and advocacy tools, Sandy Hook Promise ran a rapid-response campaign with emails, mobile messages, digital ads, and videos, while refining segmentation and messaging through testing and analytics. The effort helped drive more than 289,000 supporter messages, a 92% increase in list size, and the passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act; later, Bonterra EveryAction helped support additional fundraising wins, including $100,000 from one email and a jump from $100,000 to $300,000 in merchandise sales, quadrupling year-over-year revenue.
