A Bonterra CyberGrants Case Study
Sanofi is a global healthcare company running the Rare Humanitarian Program to deliver treatments for lysosomal storage disorders to patients who can’t access them commercially. Prior processes relied on paper and SharePoint workflows that caused delayed submissions, excessive back-and-forth with physicians, and limited reporting. To modernize the program, Sanofi moved the Patient Online Referral Tool (PORT) onto Bonterra Grants Management, provided by Bonterra CyberGrants.
Bonterra CyberGrants implemented Bonterra Grants Management/PORT so physicians can submit applications directly, with automated reminders, alternate approvers, mandatory training, and centralized reporting. The platform shortened review cycles and expanded reach—Sanofi’s first PORT submission from Uganda was approved in under 36 hours—improved compliance and visibility, and gave the team a single source of truth for program data.
