A Bonterra Apricot Case Study
United Way of the Bay Area’s SparkPoint Centers provide one-stop financial empowerment—combining coaching, credit and debt management, workforce services and more—to help low-income families improve income, credit and savings. Rapid growth to multiple sites created a challenge: coordinating data collection, tracking client progress across bundled services, and measuring which combinations actually drove long-term outcomes.
UWBA implemented Social Solutions’ Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) to centralize client data, standardize reports and develop staged metrics for financial stability, success and prosperity. Using ETO and analytic support, UWBA identified the most effective service bundle (one-on-one financial coaching plus job coaching), improved aggregate outcomes, and demonstrated strong impacts such as college persistence rates of 87% overall and 93% for students receiving all relevant SparkPoint services—results that are guiding expansion into colleges and community schools.
